Bugs in the Bushes

I let out a scream, then take a big leap.
They're close to my ear, as I land in a heap.

I pick myself up, beginning to run,
I'm skipping and jumping, but not having fun.

Lucky for me, the screen door is ajar.
I scramble right in, slamming it hard.

The bugs hit the screen, with a thud and kersplat!
Now bugs, big and little, rain down on our mat.

Poor silly bugs, who came in a rush.
Now lay quite still, in a big, crunchy, crush.
