I opened the door and what did I see?

It blew the leaves right out of my yard.
It scattered the newspaper all over my porch.
It twirled my swings right off of the bar.
It came in the window and let itself in.
Oh, my, goodness did everything spin.

I closed the door and window,
Ran fast down the stairs.
Jumped into the closet.
As the sirens blared.

When all became quiet,
I dared to return.
I opened the door and what did I learn?

All was quite calm,
Everything in its place,
From the table and chairs,
To the books in the case.

I sat in my chair and drank some sweet tea.
I was happy and thankful, it didn't blow me.
