Notes:
Not only is lying accepted and encouraged, but those who may be so foolish as to document it are subject to the wrath not only of the people but also the law.
Back in March, when I first made this presentation, Linda Tripp was the only one still in legal jeopardy -- for being so brazen as to document what she was being told. What kind of law is it that empowers one person to speak of illegalities to another and places the second person in legal jeopardy for having the courage to document it?!
If honest Abe were to be reincarnated today, one wonders what he might think of the state of his union. Today we're just supposed to ignore deceit. In the venacular of our teenagers, we're supposed to "get over it!" And how many times did we hear from supposedly responsible adults -- indeed important elected officials -- the phrase "it's time to move on" ... as a lame excuse for failing to address alleged perjury forthrightly.
The reference to "the next game" is a partially developed thought relative to transactional analysis and Eric Berne's famous book, "Games People Play." The point is that, as Berne defined them and as interpreted in this context, games are neither fun nor are they productive.
