Sponsor: Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF)
Description: WebDAV is a standard for collaborative efforts to draft and edit documents over the Internet.
Relationship to Records Management: Regardless of whether documents are drafted locally or remotely, they still need to be managed as E-records.
Problems/Issues/Weaknesses: The first iteration of WebDAV did not incorporate version control. However, a followup group is working on it. WebDAV was not conceived as a comprehensive document/records management solution, but consideration is being given to integrating it with DMA.
Closely Related Standards: DMA and DASL
