Description: ODMA is a standard for interoperability between desktop applications and electronic document management systems (EDMSs).
Relationship to Records Management: Failing to use ODMA-compliant applications is tantamount to deciding not to manage as public assets the E-records created with those applications.
Problems/Issues/Weaknesses: Some people do not want files they create to be managed as public assets, nor do they want to take any time to help classify those files for retention, disposition, access, and use.
Closely Related Standards: DMA, DoD 5015.2, WebDAV, and DASL
